Alisdair is recognised by the digital, tech and creative sector as one of Scotland’s distinguished leaders who dedicates his energy and time to developing Scotland's tech ecosystem, industry clusters and innovation economy and lead's Scotland's first Innovation District - Glasgow City Innovation District (GCID) that's dedicated to the advancement of entrepreneurship, innovation and industry. Recognised for his long standing dedication to developing the growth of Scotland's Tech and Digital economy through the mentoring of founders of new innovation businesses, advising Scotland's digital and tech Startups/Scaleups/Spinouts as well as delivering strategy and innovation to deep tech organisations, Alisdair was awarded Scotland's first Tech Ecosystem Award at the inaugural Scottish Tech Startup Awards by his peers from across industry who recognised his expertise and personal commitment to delivering growth and investment across Scotland's tech and digital economy. Alisdair has also been awarded the Principal's Special Award for his outstanding contribution to the success of the University of Strathclyde and was Barclays Entrepreneur of the Year finalist for Scotland and awarded the BIMA 100 which recognised Alisdair as one of the UK's leading digital & tech leaders. At the start of his career he was awarded Network Rail's (formerly British Rail) Scottish Apprentice of the Year. Alisdair is the founder of Glasgow Tech Week and Turing Festival (now Turing Fest) and previously led and delivered Interactive Scotland and Wireless Innovation, Scotland's national tech sector development programmes through which developed Scotland's tech and digital ecosystem by advising tech founders across the Data, Mobile, Digital Media, IoT, FinTech, Digital Tech and Creative Industries. Combined background in regional and international private and public sector organisations, Alisdair works with organisations within Deep Tech, Fintech, Mobile, Edutech, Artificial Intelligence, Space Tech Data, Healthtech, Games, Advertising, Internet of Things, Quantum Computing, Immersive Technology (VR, AR, XR, Voice Intelligence) and Machine Learning.
